ONVIF interoperability Arteco Dahua

Faenza, Italy, January 14, 2026 – Arteco and Dahua have achieved full ONVIF-conformant interoperability between Dahua’s camera and NVR product lines and the Arteco uSee VMS.

This development supports a more consistent, standards-based foundation for video surveillance systems, enabling broader interoperability and integration across multi-vendor environments.

The implementation makes use of ONVIF Profiles S, T, G, and M, extending compatibility across video streaming, metadata handling, and edge recording workflows:

  • ONVIF Profile M supports standardized metadata ingestion and analytics exchange from Dahua cameras and NVRs. This includes AI-generated events, object classifications, behavioral analytics, and structured metadata. Arteco’s uSee VMS, can interpret and process this information natively to support streamlined search, investigation, and situational analysis within ONVIF-conformant workflows.
  • ONVIF Profile G enables VMS clients to access, play back, and export edge recordings stored on Dahua cameras and NVRs, ensuring operational continuity even in bandwidth-constrained or intermittently connected environments. Through ONVIF-based implementation, platforms such as Arteco uSee can manage these edge resources consistently and efficiently, providing unified handling of recordings across heterogeneous systems.

The combined use of ONVIF Profiles S, T, G, and M helps support an open and scalable ecosystem, enabling system integrators and users to combine devices and software from different manufacturers according to their operational requirements.

With this implementation, Dahua devices can be configured within the uSee VMS following ONVIF specifications, supporting video and audio streaming, metadata, event handling, and edge recording access. These capabilities contribute to a more flexible deployment environment with consistent behavior across heterogeneous systems.

This integration showcases how ONVIF Profiles S, T, G and M enable consistent interoperability across devices and VMS platforms. By adopting these specifications, systems can manage metadata, analytics and edge recordings in a unified and predictable way, supporting more efficient investigations and long-term scalability in multi-vendor environments.” said Marco Malavolti, Global Marketing Manager at Arteco.

The integration of ONVIF Profile M enables the joint solution of Dahua and Arteco to exchange the “intelligent metadata” beyond video transmission, achieving intelligent analysis data transfer and coordination across brands. The deep integration and collaboration between Dahua and Arteco on ONVIF provide partners and end users with a more comprehensive and powerful option through an industry-acceptable standardized “language” said Mao Weiming, Chief Technology Expert of ONVIF Protocol at Dahua Technology.
