OMNIA's ONVIF Conformance on Profiles S, G, M, and T

OMNIA, our video management software (VMS), recently reached a significant milestone by achieving ONVIF® conformace on Profiles S, G, M and T. This certification reaffirms our unwavering dedication to delivering advanced security solutions and high-quality products. In this article, we will delve into the numerous benefits and opportunities that this ONVIF® Conformance certification offers to both you and your organisation.

What is ONVIF® Conformance and Why is it Important

ONVIF® (Open Network Video Interface Forum) is a leading and recognised industry forum whose mission is to provide and promote standardised interfaces for effective interoperability of IP-based physical security products. This is especially important in the area of video surveillance, where different cameras, video recorders and software must work together harmoniously.

Arteco, with OMNIA, is among the few to have succeeded in obtaining ONVIF® certification on four main profiles, thus demonstrating its ability to integrate and work in synergy with a wide range of security devices.

In the following sections, we will delve deeper into the technical aspects of the four profiles.

Profile S – Basic Video Streaming

Profile S focuses on basic video streaming. A device conforming to this profile, such as an IP network camera, is capable of sending video data over an IP network, which can be received by video management software (VMS).

Profile G – Storage and Edge Retrieval

Profile G is of great importance because it allows Edge recordings to be managed directly on certified cameras and NVRs. This means that one can centralise not only the cameras but also the NVRs, allowing OMNIA to become a device supervisor, simplifying management and control, and thus becoming essential in, for example, control rooms or security institutes, since in addition to managing video and recordings, it will also handle alarms, data and metadata.

Profile M – Metadata and Events for Analytical Applications

Profile M certification is particularly significant because it enables OMNIA to manage advanced events, data and metadata sent from cameras. This includes:

  • Analysis and information queries for metadata;
  • Streaming and management of metadata;
  • Support for generic object classification;
  • Metadata definition for geolocation, vehicles, license plates, faces and human bodies.

This for example is of great interest for applications in security, business intelligence and IoT.

Profile T – Advanced Video Streaming

With the addition of Profile T, OMNIA now supports advanced features such as H.264 / H.265 video compression, imaging settings, metadata streaming, and motion and tampering event detection. This allows for greater control and flexibility in managing advanced video streams.

Future Possibilities with OMNIA

Achieving ONVIF® conformance across these four profiles opens doors to numerous possibilities in the future. OMNIA is now primed to work seamlessly with a wide array of security devices, solidifying its reputation as a reliable product.

Upgrading Your Systems

We invite our customers to consider upgrading their systems to leverage the new features offered by OMNIA fully. Our team is ready to assist you in the seamless integration and upgrading process.

In conclusion, ONVIF® conformance across all profiles marks a significant milestone for OMNIA, demonstrating an ongoing commitment to innovation and excellence in security.
